Ten years of shared journey now converge into a common drive to advance together. We are pleased to welcome Dr. Simon Ogier, an internationally recognized expert in the field of TFT. His appointment brings a fresh perspective spanning both technological innovation and global market development, and will further accelerate LinkZill’s commercialization.
Simon Ogier holds a bachelor’s degree in Physics and received his Ph.D. in Physics & Electronics Engineering from the University of Leeds, UK. He is a technology leader with deep expertise in TFT, with over 20 years of hands-on experience in research and development, product innovation, and project management. He has extensive experience in international collaboration, developing TFT technologies across Asia, Europe, and the US, and has accumulated deep expertise in global business operations.
Simon began his career in 2001 as Senior Scientist at Avecia (now Merck), Electrophotography & Display Division, contributing to multiple projects in organic thin-film transistor (OTFT) and organic semiconductor (OSC) materials. In 2007, he moved to the Centre for Process Innovation (CPI, UK) as Head of R&D, where he built and trained the scientific team, delivered a robust IP portfolio, and generated over £10 million in public and private sector income, helping CPI become a globally recognized National Centre for Printable Electronics.
In 2015, Simon joined NeuDrive Ltd, UK as CTO, taking responsibility for technology management and product/application roadmap development, and played a key role in technology transfer to the China joint venture. In 2019, he became CTO of SmartKem Ltd (Nasdaq: SMTK), UK, where he managed engineering, formulation, and technology transfer, successfully driving strategic business growth through innovation and change management.
In April 2026, Simon joined LinkZill, bringing his expertise in TFT semiconductors to advance novel optoelectronic and life science applications, and drive LinkZill’s global expansion.
Senior Scientist Dr. Simon Ogier said:
Over recent years I have followed with interest the growth of LinkZill from its origin in Wuhan to its current impressive status in Hangzhou at the intersection of life sciences and TFT technology. I am excited to join a unique team of highly skilled scientists and innovators in this important growth stage of the business.
The LinkZill business model of leveraging flat panel TFT manufacturing capacity to enable the multi-parallel synthesis of custom DNA segments has a huge scope commercially. Even more important is its potential to improve healthcare outcomes for society through affordable and scalable techniques to personalize treatments for patients.
In addition to the life sciences developments at LinkZill I am looking forward to working with the optoelectronics business unit comprising individuals with design and manufacturing experience in a range of TFT technologies for display. I can see how this capability enables both academic and industrial researchers in fields of sensors and display science to demonstrate their new developments in a format that illustrates the value of their product to end users and investors.
Founder & CEO Dr. Linrun Feng said:
Simon was my only boss in my career, and it has been 10 years since we first worked together back in 2016 in the UK. To me, Simon is a mentor, a big brother, and a family member with whom I have shared so much time and many lovely memories.
He is a very skilled scientist with broad and deep knowledge in the area of thin-film electronics, and he is very hands-on, very humble, and has made great contributions to the field globally.
In 2026, it is my great honor and pleasure that Simon decided to stand alongside me and work together with me at LinkZill, for the adventure of thin-film transistors (TFTs) in a variety of disruptive applications. I have no doubt that Simon’s joining will be a great plus for LinkZill, particularly for LinkZill’s global expansion in both novel optoelectronics and life-science applications.
As for me, I can’t wait to start this journey with my new teammate, who is also my old friend, Dr. Simon Ogier. I believe there will be both thorns and flowers on this journey, and I look forward to embracing the challenges along the way while sharing joy and love every step of the way with Simon.
Simon, welcome on board!!!
